Wood Workbench Review - Makita rt0700c
Now I'm a very proud owner of one Makita rt0700c and what a difference from the Bosch.
Is not all good news, in spite off seems to be very sturdy in the construction the collets seem to get rusty very quickly.
Regarding one thing that we should look also in these routers is how precise the height adjustment of the bit is. I didn't find problems with the Bosch GFK 600 but the Makita definitely is easier to work on.
Technical Specifications:
Power: 710w
Speed: 10000-30000 rpm's
Weight: 1,8 Kg's
Shank: 1/4''/6 mm/8 mm
Pros:
+ Sturdy
+ Reliable
+ Variable Speed
Cons:
- Heavy for one palm router
- Collets seem to get rusty very quickly
- No carrying case
- It would be good to have one integrated light
After
the adventure with the Bosch GKF600, I went back to the net and
searched what went wrong. Found out that for some bits and the kind of
wood will imply working at an certain speed, that's why I mentioned that
variable speed was so important.
